The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides rent subsidies through housing assistance payments to private landlords who provide housing units for very low-income individuals or families, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities.
The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) oversees the Section 8 program in the City of Westlake Village. For more information, please visit the LACDA Section 8 webpage.
Note: In 2019, a new law (SB 329) was enacted to redefine the term “source of income” in regard to housing discrimination laws to mean verifiable income paid directly to a tenant or paid to a property owner or landlord on behalf of a tenant, including federal, state, or local public assistance and housing subsidies.
